Have You Discovered WRAP?
WRAP or the Watford Recycling Arts Project is a registered charity which specialises in recyling and repurposing ethically sourced commercial waste for creative enterprise.
It was founded in 1995 by a local group of forward thinking volunteers who wanted to combine the use of commercial and industrial bi-products for artistic use while promoting environmental awareness within the community.
The first 'official' WRAP scrapstore was established with the help of Watford arts development team in 1996 at the Wiggenhall Depot. The organisation has subsequently grown and now has a base at Wolsey Business Park, Tolpits Lane, Watford. It offers memberships to families and community groups. It also hosts workshops for schools and community groups alongside their scrapstore as another means of promoting environmental awareness using the arts.
Sustainable Three Rivers volunteers used materials from WRAP to make this beautiful bunting. What could you make using repurposed materials?
