New Trees Planted in Rickmansworth
High Street
We are delighted that two new trees have been planted at the entrance to Rickmansworth Hight Street.
The trees are Sweet Gums, which will be able to thrive in this location. They also have beautiful leaves which turn to shades of orange, crimson and purple in autumn.
Urban trees bring wide benefits for communities and they are needed more than ever as we face climate change. They produce oxygen whilst soaking up carbon dioxide and pollution. They can also help protect against flooding as well as keeping us cool in the summer.
We hope that the trees also contribute to thriving, regenerated, attractive High Street atmosphere.
Thanks go to Sustainable Three Rivers member Russell Ball for his hard work in making the tree planting happen and of course, Cllr Reena Ranger for her invaluable support in securing the funding for the project.
The trees are there for the benefit of all Rickmansworth residents and visitors, both now and in years to come. You can help to care for them and the other trees planted around our streets by watering them during the summer months.
