Local Businesses Help Care For The Gateway Trees In Rickmansworth High Street

The two Sweet Gum trees which were planted at the entrance to Rickmansworth High Street in 2023 are now growing and thriving, greening up the streetscape.

This is thanks in no small part to the support of local businesses who have helped by ensuring the trees are kept well watered.

Staff from Gibbs Gillespie, Boots Opticians and Hob hair salon have provided our volunteers with water for the trees, as well as assisting in watering themselves. We are extremely grateful for their support and were delighted when members of their teams could join us for a photoshoot to celebrate the trees.

Regular watering will remain vital over the next 2 - 3 years to ensure that the trees continue to survive, grow and thrive. Over the coming years they will become significant landscape trees, perhaps even a meeting point and importantly they will provide valuable cooling shade during our increasingly hot summers.  They are also cleaning our air locally and increasing biodiversity in our town.
