OPPORTUNITY: SOCIAL MEDIA VOLUNTEER

Sustainable Three Rivers (S3R) is a Community Interest Company founded by local residents. Our mission is to help people make sustainable lifestyle choices within Three Rivers, Hertfordshire, and to initiate and support local projects focused on environmental stewardship. We value innovation and invite individuals to contribute their ideas and energies towards making a real difference.

We are looking for a volunteer social media manager. This is an important role as we grow our online presence. It’s an opportunity to make a real difference to your community, by creating and promoting positive messages about sustainable living. It is also a great way to enhance your digital communication, marketing and analytical skills, making this a valuable professional development opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

- Content creation:

  • Develop messages that showcase positive sustainable lifestyle choices, sharing impactful stories, tips, and news of community events and projects.

-Building community connections:

  • Manage the online voice of our organisation, building relationships and fostering a sense of belonging among our digital audience.

-Audience growth:

  • Broaden S3R’s reach and community presence.

The ideal volunteer will:

- Be genuinely committed to promoting environmental sustainability

- Be interested in social media and have a knack for creating compelling content

- Have a talent with words and an eye for catchy images

- Be analytical when it comes to growing our online audience

- Be willing to work collaboratively with other members of the group, but have the initiative to take the lead on our social media efforts.

Commitment: The beauty of being a volunteer organisation is that our members can define their own role. As a guide, this role could take 3-6 hours a week of your time, but we can be completely flexible depending on how involved you want to be. We can also take more than one person on for the role, so if you want to do it alongside someone else, that’s great.

We are a friendly and supportive team! All we ask is that you are enthusiastic, as well as realistic and open about how much you can commit.
