Family Fun at the Community Garden Summer Workshop

Families from across Three Rivers came together in August to enjoy some creative fun in the sun at our Summer Workshop. The event was held in Rickmansworth Community Garden and included art activities, story telling and bug hunting.

Participants learned how to print using flowers found in the garden and enjoyed making posters and brightly coloured decorations. Members of the Rickmansworth Library team were also on hand to read stories to the youngsters, including The Very Hungry Caterpillar. They then embarked on a bug hunt around the garden, finding real caterpillars and other mini-beasts. They looked at them through magnifying glasses and found out more about the bio-diversity in the garden.

The event was organised by Jane Irwin and other members of the Sustainable Three Rivers team. Look out for details of our forthcoming family events, aimed at helping us all to live more sustainably, promote bio-diversity in our area and have some fun at the same time!
